This personal project was created as a proof of concept mapping 3D points to 2D space using expressions in After Effects.

The main animation of the lines is driven by two 3D enabled null object layers. Their positions are converted and offset using the toWorld/fromWorld expressions to become the x and y position values for two sets of 2D null layers. Finally, lines are drawn between pairs of these 2D nulls using the createPath() expression.

The story behind the animation was inspired by real life events.
