Civilization was inspired by the Battleaxe kBar icons which I see daily, and also the Love Death & Robots intro.

The four main symbols were designed in Illustrator and then animated in After Effects. The transitions are mostly path animation morphs between common design elements.

Although I started out trying to make this animation a thought-provoking allegory, the final render ended up being the four icons I was most excited to create transitions between. However, feel free to think deep deep thoughts and come to life-changing conclusions.
